This includes issuance of the Sport Pilot Student certificate, the Sport Pilot certificate and the Sport Pilot Flight Instructor certificate. Mr. Downs is an EAA Flight advisor and FAA Certified Flight Instructor, with 50 years experience in aviation. Your flight test experience will be conducted in the friendly and constructive environment you should expect from a true professional.

Student Pilot Certificate - $40.00

The Sport Pilot Student Pilot certificate is an important document. While some Sport Pilot students will be using their existing ultra light flying experience to meet the Sport Pilot experience requirements, and others may be starting from scratch, they all have one requirement in common. Any Sport Pilot training that requires you to act as pilot in command (that is, to fly solo) in a certified airplane (any airplane having an FAA "N" number) also requires you to have a properly endorsed Student Pilot certificate. A Student Pilot certificate can be obtained through one of three methods:

• You may obtain a Student Pilot certificate specific to Sport Pilot training from Earl Downs for a service fee of only $40.00. This certificate must be issued to you in person. • You may obtain an FAA medical certificate (not required for flying as a Sport Pilot) which has the Student Pilot certificate on the back side of the medical certificate. Depending upon where you live, the cost of an FAA medical certificate may range from $70 to over $150.
• You may contact a local office of the FAA and arrange for the issuance of a Student Pilot certificate specific to Sport Pilot training. You must schedule an appointment in advance and appear in person.

Sport Pilot Check Ride (Practical Flight Test) - $300.00

Mr. Downs will conduct the entire Sport Pilot check ride in the properly certified aircraft of your choice. Mr. Downs will conduct check rides in traditional tri-gear aircraft, tail wheel aircraft, classics, two-place ultra light type aircraft and single-place aircraft. Plan to spend between four to five hours to complete the entire process. Mr. Downs may be able to travel to a location of your choice for additional travel cost and time considerations. Sport Pilot Flight Instructor Check Ride (Practical Flight Test) - $375.00
